Brian Butler, Director, National Aboriginal Congress speaks of his idea, ahead of Reconciliation Day, to replace lateral violence with lateral love and to spread the idea through a new Lateral Love Australia website. Butler says the whole society is suffering from lateral violence. He believes lateral love will have the ability to change attitudes. He notes the daily lateral violence among parliamentarians like Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott. He says he wants states, territories and organisations whether Aboriginal or non-Aboriginal including church groups, local government groups, sporting groups, educations groups, universities and others to sign on to the Lateral Love campaign.
